The "Dev Runner"
Devereux Hall, being the oldest residence hall on campus, comes with its fair share of ghost stories. Students insist that objects have been moved, apparitions appeared, electronics set off without being plugged into the wall, and faucets turned on at all hours of the night. Footsteps that aren't connected to any visible person are heard in the hallways and stairwells, but the most famous of these are those of the Dev Runner.
The third floor of Devereux Hall is set up exactly the same as the two below it and the one above it, but what makes it unique is the spirit that frequents its halls. Late at night, after the hall starts to quiet down and most of the students are asleep in their rooms, the sound of quick, even footsteps can be heard in the hallway. Students who have heard the footsteps, either from their rooms on the 2nd floor below or from the 3rd floor, have investigated the source of the noise, but have come up with little but goosebumps on their arms and doubt in their heads.
It is said that these footsteps belong to a friar who once lived in the building and made a point to run every day. They say that old habits die hard, but what happens after they too pass on?
